There was no better news that came out of the 10th anniversary of the Spirit of America blood drive at Michigan International Speedway than the final tally of units donated during the 12-hour event. In all, 1,350 units of blood were donated by generous patrons throughout the day, making it the most successful blood drive thus far, topping last year’s mark of 1,330 units.
The nation's largest 9-11 blood drive, the Spirit of America at MIS, will collect blood during Sunday's event. Those who signed up for appointments should attend the blood drive during their scheduled appointment time.
Marking its 10th anniversary, the Spirit of America Blood Drive at Michigan International Speedway is pleased to announce that all appointments for its September 11 event have been filled. People still wishing to donate blood for the event may call 1-800-968-4283 ext. 317 and be added to a waiting list. Guests added to the waiting list will be contacted by an American Red Cross representative should an appointment become available.
