With the announcement of changes to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points system, the summer race dates at Michigan International Speedway on June 19 and August 21 will offer more excitement for fans and become even more pivotal races on the 2011 Sprint Cup Series schedule. Two-time Sprint Cup Series race winner at MIS Ryan Newman agrees.
MIS' security efforts were recognized during NASCAR’s annual safety meetings in Charlotte, N.C. when MIS and its Security Director Jim Hobbs were honored with an Award of Excellence for garage/pit security.
The fans have spoken and MIS, and its president Roger Curtis, are the top track promoters in the state of Michigan. MIS was honored with the “Promoter of the Year” award by the Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club on Saturday night at the DeCarlo’s Banquet Center in Warren, Mich. Curtis accepted the award on behalf of the speedway in front of over 450 in attendance at the 45th annual event.
MIS is giving fans one last chance to cash-in on the lowest prices of the 2011 season. Monday, Jan. 31 is the last day to place a deposit on tickets and camping for 2011. After that, ticket prices will increase for the Sunday NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.
