NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Tickets on Sale Sat, January 13Share
With the 2007 race season at Michigan International Speedway quickly approaching, it's time for fans to mark Saturday, Jan. 13 on their calendars. Tickets to Michigan International Speedway's NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series events will be on sale to the general public that day.
Tickets to both NEXTEL Cup Series races at Michigan International Speedway, the June 17 Michigan 400 and the Aug. 19 3M Performance 400, will go on sale at 8 a.m. EST on Saturday, Jan. 13 at MIS' official Web site, www.MISpeedway.com, or by calling the MIS ticket hotline at 1-800-354-1010.
"There's never been a better time to be a Michigan International Speedway ticket holder," Michigan International Speedway President Roger Curtis said. "We are in the process of making some incredible changes at Michigan International Speedway and are dedicated to improving the fan experience from doorstep to doorstep."
Several fan enhancement projects for 2007 are under way at MIS, including the replacement of grandstand seating in Turn One. Two grandstands in Turn One have been torn down and are being replaced with new, fan friendly grandstands. The new grandstands offer race fans premium seating and amazing sightlines of MIS' two-mile oval. The new seats are four inches wider than the seats in the old grandstands, and will allow fans to have more leg room. All of the new seats are bench-style with seat backs. The new grandstands are also 10 rows higher than the old grandstands so fans who sit there will have breathtaking views of all the on-track action at MIS ¿ including a fantastic view down pit road. The new seats will carry Michigan International Speedway's familiar and distinct yellow and red pattern.
Along with the new Turn One seating, MIS is in the process of enhancing tram stops and will purchase additional trams for disabled guests, as well as build premium RV camping along pit road. A new parking lot for Skylounge Suite holders is also under construction next to the AAA Motorsports Fan Plaza.
Besides improved amenities at the track, Curtis and the staff at MIS are committed to making the overall experience in and out of the speedway better.
"We are also in the process of making significant changes to the traffic patterns, which we will announce soon, that should greatly help our guests get out of the parking lots and on their way home after a great day of racing much faster," Curtis said. "We are dedicated to making the time you leave your home to the time you return and everything in between better."
Tickets will also be on sale Jan. 13 during the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The MIS ticket booth will be located in Cobo Arena.
While tickets go on sale for both NEXTEL Cup Series races on Saturday, January 13, tickets to all other events, which include the IRL IndyCar Series, NASCAR Busch Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and ARCA/REMAX Series are now available. Tickets can be purchased at www.MISpeedway.com, or by calling the MIS ticket hotline at 1-800-354-1010.
