The driver may take home the trophies, but at Michigan International Speedway the fans give them.
MIS, as part of its ongoing Fan Appreciation presented by LifeLock program, has launched a fan trophy — awarded by fans to the winner of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 race at the track. The tradition will begin following the presentation of the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 trophy and given to the winning driver by two fans randomly selected by the program.
Additionally, 50 lucky fans will be selected by the Fan Appreciation Program presented by LifeLock to participate in Gatorade Victory Lane ceremonies.
“We’re really excited to make fans a part of Gatorade Victory Lane,” tracks President Roger Curtis said. “Our vision is to create lasting memories for every person, every time, and these 50 fans will receive a wonderful experience following the race. We appreciate and recognize that our fans choose to spend their time here each summer.”
The trophy was created out of the recently revealed Fan Appreciation program logo, a logo chosen by the fans themselves by popular vote.
Michigan International Speedway and the fans recognize the hard work the crews also put into a win, so crew members will also receive a trophy.
Nestled in the lush Irish Hills of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan International Speedway is the Great Escape, a venerable NASCAR national park where fans can get away and enjoy the very best in racing and camaraderie. It’s the love of racing and the thrill of a great time for race fans and drivers alike.
Tickets are available for the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 on Sunday. Visit any box office the day of the race and purchase a ticket for as low as $30.
