Michigan International Speedway prides itself on being the “NASCAR track in a National Park” so it’s only fitting that its Champions Club will host an All Sports Spectacular event this weekend, bringing the passion for outdoors together with its local chamber of commerce.

MIS’ Champions Club will serve as the venue for the Brooklyn-Irish Hills Chamber of Commerce’s All Sports Spectacular on Saturday, Sept. 25, bringing outdoor sports enthusiasts together in what is the local chamber’s largest fundraising event in 2010. The event will focus on hunting, fishing, camping, bicycling and racing.

“This is our biggest fundraising event of the year and we’re excited that the Champions Club at MIS is the host for it,” the chamber’s executive director Cindy Hubbell said. “MIS embraces the idea that it’s located in the Irish Hills of Michigan and its passion for the outdoors goes without saying. It’s a great fit for this event.”

The eighth annual All Sports Spectacular will take place at 4 p.m. Formerly known as Sportsmen’s Night Out, the All Sports Spectacular will include silent and live auctions, raffles and a catered meal. Tickets for the event are $40 each or $70 for a couple.

All proceeds go to the chamber’s economic development program and help fund student scholarships and area activity promotions and events, including the Brooklyn-Irish Hills annual July 4 fireworks show.

The event will be co-sponsored by MIS and Mid-America Machining of Brooklyn. Tickets are still available by calling the chamber at 517-592-8907.

“We’re happy to work with the Brooklyn-Irish Hills Chamber and assist them with putting on their largest fundraising event of the year,” MIS Director of Government and Community Affairs Alisha Cottrell said. “We embrace the fact that we are located in the beautiful Irish Hills where hiking, boating, hunting, fishing, and of course racing, take place all year long. MIS truly is ‘NASCAR in a National Park’ so it’s fitting that we are hosting this event.”

Nestled in the lush Irish Hills of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan International Speedway is the Great Escape, a venerable NASCAR national park where fans can get away and enjoy the very best in racing and camaraderie. It’s the love of racing and the thrill of a great time for race fans and drivers alike.

The best, guaranteed lowest prices in 2011 will go to renewal customers and new customers who make a $30 goodwill deposit. Renewals are under way for 2010 ticket holders. New customers can log onto www.MISpeedway.com or call 800-354-1010 to leave a deposit. That deposit ensures race fans get the best pricing for 2011.
