“We are really excited to have a bigger emphasis on Michigan beer this year,” MIS President Roger Curtis said. “There are many breweries in the state and word is spreading about how enjoyable their products were for our guests last year. This is a very neat opportunity to taste fantastic beers and wines from all over our great state while enjoying a special evening out with your friends and family.”
In addition to beer and wine, Michigan food vendors will also be featured, making the Great Lakes Wine Festival a purely Michigan event.
The Great Lakes Wine Fest presented by the Jackson County CVB, is a natural fit for the state, with a unique focus on Michigan-based wineries and breweries. With 14,600 acres of vineyards and about 80 commercial wineries across the state of Michigan, the Great Lakes Wine Fest is perfectly and conveniently situated at MIS in the southeast corner of the state.
Guests may sample wines, beer and food from Michigan vendors, and buy favorite wines by the bottle or case. The festival’s on-site retail store will have select wines and beer available for purchase at the event.
In addition to wine and beer sampling, seminars covering wine, food and other topics of interest will be held throughout the venue. Live entertainment throughout the weekend will also be featured.
Guests may opt to buy an advance one-day ticket for $25. Each ticket includes $10 worth of tasting tickets per day. The wine festival is set for noon to 9 p.m. Tickets purchased the day of the event are $35.
