MIS Welcome Center adds a new fan experienceShare
Michigan International Speedway is pleased to announce the addition of its official MIS Welcome Center at the New Holland Fan Plaza on race weekends.
The welcome center, the first of its kind in NASCAR, will be located at the entrance to the Fan Plaza, located outside the grandstands near the start-finish line. The center, your one-stop spot about what’s going on at the facility and about motorsports in general, is a must-see for both first-time visitors and long-time, loyal MIS guests.
“The MIS Welcome Center is a great addition to the New Holland Fan Plaza,” track President Roger Curtis said. “It has everything a guest needs to know about the experience they will have. It teaches about the sport and what’s new about the facility. It’s our way of continuing to make MIS the most fan-friendly experience in the industry and we know there is something for everyone.”
Last year about 20 percent of MIS guests were brand-new to NASCAR and Michigan International Speedway. So the development of a welcome center is an important step in educating first-time fans about the racetrack and the sport.
The welcome center will feature many interactive and informative exhibits. Try your hand at changing a tire like a pro with the pit stop challenge or visit the full-scale mock pit, complete with gas cans, tires and more, to see what goes on in a NASCAR pit stop. There will also be a full cutaway of a tire to show you the ins and outs of the Goodyear racing tire.
First-timer? The MIS Welcome Center is here to help with first-timer videos that will help you learn more about the facility and about the racing experience at MIS. Have any questions about motorsports that you need answered? Both professional driving school instructors and the fan advisory board will be on hand to answer any questions, from questions about the facility to specifics about the on-track product.
Fans will have the opportunity to talk with the FAB, who offer fan-to-fan tips and recommendations to make the very most of your visit to MIS. You can learn about drivers, teams, racing terminology and enjoy hands on racing activities and special guest appearances
You can also find out more about your favorite NASCAR driver with unique driver bio displays or learn more about NASCAR and the Gen 6 race car. There will even be one on display for you to see. It’s your opportunity to learn everything about the NASCAR universe.
The Fan Appreciation trailer will be right next to the Welcome Center and will serve as a stopping point for kids. Fans who received a golden ticket can redeem their ticket. Young race fans can sign up for the MIS Kids Club at the welcome center as well.
The MIS Welcome Center will be staffed with an eager and knowledgeable group of employees that are ready to assist you with any need. Just look for an MIS team member in a bright orange t-shirt in the fan plaza. They’re your ticket to a top-notch fan experience.
