It’s Summerfast at MIS! Tickets on sale now
Saturday is your chance to get in on the action at Michigan International Speedway in 2014, the fastest track in NASCAR. And the prices will never be lower.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will make a pair of stops at MIS in 2014. The opening race will once again be on Father’s Day weekend for the Quicken Loans 400 on June 15. The Pure Michigan 400 will take place on Aug. 17 and annually serves as an important race prior to The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
“We are looking forward to an outstanding 2014 season and believe our ticket prices provide something for everybody,” MIS President Roger Curtis said. “The 2013 season featured great racing and a season-long battle for the championship that came down to the last event. We cannot wait for the season to start and welcome fans back to MIS to see the best race car drivers on the fastest track.”
In 2013, Greg Biffle won the Quicken Loans 400, his second consecutive victory at MIS. The win gave Roush Fenway Racing its 13th victory in the Irish Hills, the most of any organization at MIS. Joey Logano started from the pole and won the Pure Michigan 400 in August.
The top three series in NASCAR established new track qualifying records at MIS in 2013 as Logano won the pole for the Pure Michigan 400 with a top speed of 203.949 mph, the ninth fastest pole speed in NASCAR history.
The track’s opening NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend in 2014 will be on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15. The Nationwide Series race will be at MIS on Saturday, June 14. The ARCA Racing Series will race on Friday, June 13.
Sprint Cup Series will wind up its summertime stint only eight weeks later at MIS on Sunday, August 17, with the Camping World Truck Series on Saturday, August 16.
The track continues to keep ticket prices low for 2014. Race fans who purchase early will have the best prices and the best seats. Tickets for a NASCAR Sprint Cup race start at $27, with children 12 and under free in certain sections, ensuring families a chance to see NASCAR at affordable prices. You can camp all week long for one price, starting at $145.
The speedway will also continue its junior pricing program where kids 13-16 are half price in reserve seats.
And Fridays became even more exciting at MIS when NASCAR revamped the qualifying system, moving away from single-car, two-lap qualifying to knockout-group qualifying. All cars entered for the race will qualify collectively for up to 25 minutes, with the top-24 based on fastest laps advancing for a subsequent 10-minute session.
Then the top-12 from that group will advance to the final, five-minute round.
“This new style qualifying has all the essentials in a NASCAR race – strategy, drama, speed,” Curtis said. “It’s like mini races all rolled into an affordable event.”
Friday tickets are $15 in June, including the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards; and $10 in August.
Fans can see the future stars of NASCAR for just $30 on Saturday in June for the Nationwide race an $20 for the Camping World Truck race on Saturday in August.
Now fans can experience pit road up close, sign the start/finish line, take photos with the trophy or see the drivers on race morning. MIS is offering single-day pit and paddock passes and weekend passes.
In addition, MIS offers a variety of ticket packages for all types of races fans.
