Repave history at MIS
It is the fourth repave project in Michigan International Speedway's history. Other repaves of the two-mile MIS oval took place in 1977, 1986 and 1995.

September 2011 - Start of repaving process
October 2011 - Paving
November 2011 - Paving
December 2011 - March 2012 - Winter break
April 2012 - Paving
May 2012 - SAFER barrier re-installation, striping of track
June 2012 - Project complete in time for June 15-17 race weekend
