Fan Input Helps With Track Improvements
The various 2008 capital improvement projects that were announced by Michigan International Speedway today are a direct result of input provided by its race fans.

"We are always looking at capital improvement projects that make our race fans' experience at Michigan International Speedway a better one," track president Roger Curtis said. "We read and appreciate every compliment, concern or comment that is sent to us from our fans. It is their input which helps in making these projects possible."

During the 2007 season at MIS, Curtis learned what race fans need to enjoy a race weekend first-hand by experiencing it directly with them. During all three race weekends, Curtis participated in various experiences with the fans from riding passenger trams, sitting in the grandstands and visiting people in various parking lots and campgrounds.

He personally spoke to many fans who offered their suggestions with many of those leading to projects that are set for 2008.

"I really enjoyed visiting with fans on the trams, in the campgrounds/parking lots and in the grandstands," Curtis said. "I feel the best way to get a race fan's opinion on the time they spend at MIS is to actually experience it with them. It was a great opportunity for me to see things we can improve upon, which had led to the various capital initiatives that were announced this week. We unfortunately can't fix or improve everything at once, but we are moving in the right direction."

Whether it is a 142-foot scoreboard, improved Turn One seating, new campsites or new permanent shower/restroom facilities, all of the improvements are another way that MIS is paying attention to its race fans.

To witness Michigan International Speedway's capital improvement projects in 2008, fans can place a deposit for the 40th race season until Friday, Nov. 2 by calling the MIS ticket office. Deposits can be redeemed on December 10th or 11th. Placing a deposit allows customers to purchase tickets after the renewal process but before they go on sale to the public. Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007. For additional information, call the MIS Ticket Hotline at 1-800-354-1010.
