MIS launches 2010 season with Heluva Good! kickoffShare
With the attendance of corporate partners, NASCAR drivers, media and fans, Michigan International Speedway launched its 2010 season in grand fashion with a Heluva Good! kickoff event on January 26 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
The event featured many of MIS’ corporate partners including NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race sponsors Heluva Good! and Carfax. The Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 is scheduled for June 13 with the CARFAX 400 slated for August 15. Representatives from the VFW and Racing for Wildlife also attended among others.
“This was a great event in that it not only kicked off our 2010 season, but also brought together our corporate partners, race fans and MIS staff,” MIS President Roger Curtis said. “We appreciate everything that our partners and fans do for us. It was a special event.”
MIS received support for the event from NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver A.J. Allmendinger and Nationwide Series driver Colin Braun. Both drivers will compete at MIS this summer with Allmendinger piloting the famed No. 43 Ford for Richard Petty Motorsports in the Sprint Cup Series and Braun driving the No. 16 Conway Freight Ford in the Nationwide Series.
“This was a great event. I enjoy racing at MIS every year and look forward to visiting the track this summer,” Allmendinger said. “It’s always nice to be able to support the racetracks in whatever way we can. I’m excited to get the season started next month in Daytona and get back to racing.”
Nestled in the lush Irish Hills of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan International Speedway is the Great Escape, a venerable NASCAR national park where fans can get away and enjoy the very best in racing and camaraderie. It’s the love of racing and the thrill of a great time for race fans and drivers alike.
