Thomas Judge wins week 8!Share
Thomas Judge of Johnstown, Ohio has been picked as the Week 8 winner of Michigan International Speedway President Roger’s Curtis’ fantasy pick ‘em contest.
Judge was the only fan to correctly select Denny Hamlin as the winner of the race at Texas and will receive a ‘40 Years of MIS Champions’ book.
Judge will be automatically entered for the grand prize drawing at the end of the season for two Victory Lane Club passes for the 2011 season, a $1,200 value.
Curtis picked Matt Kenseth, who finished 20th in the race.
Overall, week 8 of the contest saw Tony Stewart as the most popular pick of the weekend with 57 selections. Jimmie Johnson was the second-most picked driver with 40.
“Thomas Judge was the only person that picked Denny Hamlin, which is amazing! He’ll be the only name from this week that will be entered to win Victory Lane Club passes at the end of the season,” Curtis said. “Not only was the race postponed until Monday, but to see many of the top cars get knocked out with 17 laps to go was wild. Denny Hamlin picked up his second win of the year, which was great to see. More than likely, he’ll be challenging for the championship at the end of the season.”
MIS is hosting its weekly NASCAR pick ‘em contest at MISpeedway.com/rogerpickem. Fans have the chance to make a weekly selection on who they think will win that weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. Curtis also makes his selection on the website and discussed why he selected his driver on a weekly podcast.
All picks for the contest must be entered one hour prior to the start of each race. The contest is open to residents of the United States and Canada. Fans may also make their selection each week by mailing a 3 x 5 card with their pick and race name to Michigan International Speedway, 12626 U.S. 12, Brooklyn, MI 49230. All cards must be postmarked prior to the event date.
Nestled in the lush Irish Hills of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan International Speedway is the Great Escape, a venerable NASCAR national park where fans can get away and enjoy the very best in racing and camaraderie.
